Jammu sees Cong’s Jai Hind rally, Tiranga Yatra by BJP
Jammu city witnessed two rallies — by Congress and BJP — to honour the bravery of the armed forces who launched Operation Sindoor against the terror infrastructure in Pakistan.
The Congress took out the ‘Jai Hind’ rally in Jammu city, which started from the party’s headquarters at Shaheedi Chowk and culminated at Indira Chowk after passing through Residency Road, Raghunath Mandir Chowk, Hari Market and Ranbir Market area.
The rally was led by JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra along with AICC general secretary and CLP leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir besides other senior leaders.
Tariq Hameed Karra said that the nation needs to be taken into confidence over various questions “right from Pahalgam carnage to the announcement of ceasefire by a third country which has happened for the first time in the history of the country”.
He said that the ceasefire announcement by the US President came as a surprise to the entire nation “as to how a third country could do so when our forces were fighting a war against terrorism and a terrorist state”.
Meanwhile, portraying the patriotism and solidarity with the armed forces, a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ was organised by the BJP. Sat Sharma, president, J&K BJP, accompanied by Yudhvir Sethi, vice-president and MLA, among others were present. The yatra was led by a 100m-long national flag held by children. The event saw participation from hundreds of local residents.
Sat Sharma lauded the Indian forces for their sacrifices. He said that the rich history of the country is filled with the stories of valour and moments of pride. He termed Operation Sindoor as a historic moment.
