Amran Farooq, a 2008-batch officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS), has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Farooq, who is currently serving in the CID wing of J&K Police, has been inducted into the CBI for a tenure of four years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

An official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) stated: “Approval of the competent authority is hereby conveyed for the induction of Amran Farooq, JKPS:2008, as Superintendent of Police (SP) in CBI for a period of four years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders.”
