J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat inaugurates exhibition on new criminal laws

Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, on Sunday inaugurated a three-day mega exhibition on the new criminal laws, organised by the Crime Branch, Jammu, under the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India. The event is being held at Gulshan Ground, Jammu.

The DGP was the chief guest at the event, while Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K Anand Jain, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti, and IGP Crime J&K Sujit Kumar Singh were present as special guests of honour.

In his address, Nalin Prabhat highlighted that the J&K Police have been enthusiastically implementing the new criminal laws on the ground and are conducting investigations in a time-bound manner. He commended the Crime Branch for organising the exhibition and announced that similar exhibitions would be held in every district to educate the public.

“The primary objective of organising such a large-scale exhibition is to create widespread public awareness about the new criminal laws,” the DGP said. The exhibition drew a large number of visitors, including students, on its opening day.

Various stalls have been set up at the exhibition, showcasing the implementation and implications of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Departments and units participating include the District Police, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Police Control Room (PCR), Women Police Station, Cyber Police Stations, Prosecution Wing, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Counter Intelligence and Cyber Enforcement (CICE), Special Crime Wing (SCW), Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch Jammu, the J&K Health Department, and several others.
