J&K on Friday recorded 671 fresh Covid cases, taking the number of infected persons to 3,10,688, while the death toll rose to 4,234 with eight more fatalities, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 226 were reported from the Jammu division and 445 from the Kashmir division. The active cases have dropped to 10,094, while a total of 2,96,360 patients have recovered so far. There are 22 confirmed cases of mucormycosis or black fungus in the UT so far.

Ladakh’s Covid death toll reaches 200 with one more death. The caseload has reached 19,704 with 22 freshcases. The active cases in the region dropped to 482 as 77 more patients recovered during a 24-hour period. The new death was reported from Kargil on Thursday, taking the district’s tally to 57. — PTI
