J&K on Thursday saw a renewed Covid spurt with 170 new cases and 98 recoveries. Officials said 41 cases and 12 recoveries were reported from the Jammu division and 129 cases and 86 recoveries from the Kashmir division.

Srinagar district reported 70 new cases as another area, where 8 members of a family tested positive, has been declared as micro-containment zone.

As many as 3,27,466 people have been infected with Covid out of which 3,21,630 have recovered, while 4,415 have succumbed.

Ladakh recorded nine fresh cases, taking the infection tally to 20,625. The active cases are 40, including 38 in Leh and two in Kargil district.

Ladakh has registered 207 Covid-related deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic last year. Five Covid patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the tally of those cured from the infection to 20,380. — IANS/PTI
