The revenue staff of both Udhampur and Kathua districts has been instructed to ensure that developers register their real estate projects with JKRERA before advertising, marketing, booking, selling, offering for sale, or inviting persons to purchase any plot, apartment, or building, in any planning area. This registration is mandatory under Section 3 of the JKRERA Act and must be completed prior to any such activities.

Chairperson JKRERA Satish Chandra said “Our aim is to promote transparency and accountability in the real estate sector, protect consumer rights and ensure planned development in accordance with the Unified Building Bylaws (UBBLs).”

He emphasised that these kinds of inspections will help curb the growth of illegal colonies lacking basic facilities. Deputy Secretary, JKRERA Esha Chib, Naib Tehsildar JKRERA Gias-ud-Din among others conducted the inspection.
