Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner Devansh Yadav on Thursday visited the Shelter for Urban Homeless (SUH) at Boria Basti here.

During his visit, Yadav took a comprehensive tour of the facility and inspected the various arrangements made for the comfort and well-being of the inmates.

Interacting with the inmates, the Commissioner assured them that all necessary facilities would be provided to ensure that they do not face any inconvenience. He also inquired about the available amenities to make sure that the shelter meets the required standards for its inhabitants.

Lauding the efforts of the management of the shelter, the Commissioner commended them for maintaining the shelter home in excellent condition and providing the inmates with a safe and supportive environment.

As part of the ongoing welfare initiatives, the Medical Mobile Unit of the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu, organised a medical camp for the inmates. This camp, which is held weekly, aims to provide essential healthcare services to the residents of the shelter. Dr Rashmi Sharma, Dr Sunita Sharma, and other medical staff attended the camp to offer medical assistance and ensure the health needs of the inmates are met.
