The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today sealed three structures being constructed illegally in violation of the building permission norms.

The corporation also registered an FIR against a violator for breaking open the seal in defiance of the civic body laws.

STILT PARKING WAS CONVERTED INTO BASEMENT

A building belonging to Mohan Lal in Sector 3, Channi Himmat, was constructed by violating the building permission, wherein the stilt parking meant for parking was converted into a basement for commercial purpose. Similarly, Vijay Kumar Gupta had raised two additional floors on his shop at Ragunath Bazar on the pretext of repairs. Moreover, in defiance to the sealing of his premises, he broke open the seal of the premises leading to the JMC lodging an FIR against him.

An official spokesperson said, the enforcement teams of the corporation on the directions of Jammu MunicipalCorporation Commissioner, Avny Lavasa sealed three illegal constructions. The drive was conducted under the overall supervision of the Joint Commissioner (Administration) of the Jammu MunicipalCorporation.

In another case, the illegally raised house of Shabir Ahmed at Hanuman Wali Gali, Pacca Danga, Jammu, was also sealed by the JMC,” the spokesperson said.

The Jammu MunicipalCorporation authorities reiterated its appeal to the general public to refrain from raising illegal constructions and get building plans approved for commercial and residential buildings.
