The act, carried out by leading English and Urdu dailies including Greater Kashmir, Rising Kashmir, Uzma, Aftab, among others, was both a mark of protest and a gesture of solidarity with those who lost their loved ones in the terror attack.

One of the prominent dailies, Greater Kashmir, carried the headline, “GRUESOME: Kashmir Gutted, Kashmiris Grieving.” The paper also ran a front-page editorial under the heading ‘Massacre in the Meadows’, stating, “Kashmir’s soul stands in unequivocal condemnation of this brutality and offers heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families, who sought beauty but found tragedy.”

Another widely read daily, Rising Kashmir, highlighted the incident with its main headline, “Terror strikes Pahalgam.”
