A group of Kashmiri pandits on Monday staged a protest in Srinagar against the alleged encroachments of temple land in the Valley.
The protest was led by Kashmiri pandit activist Sandeep Mawa in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk.

Mawa said that he has started a movement against the encroachments of temple land.
“White collared people are involved. We want the government to investigate it,” he claimed.

He said that the encroachment has been done under a 'conspiracy'.
The protestors demanded that encroachment should be removed and the government should ‘form a commission to investigate it deeply’.
On Monday after the protest, Mawa was detained by the Srinagar police and was released later.
