Kathua, December 15

Deputy Commissioner, OP Bhagat and a team of officers today conducted an extensive tour to the snow-affected areas of Bani and took stock of snow clearance, connectivity, restoration of power and water supply, availability of ration and other essential commodities in the area.

During the tour, the DC monitored the restoration of traffic on Basholi-Bani road where the movement of vehicles was restricted after the snowfall and landslides at Gair, Dramani, Siani, Beacon and other adjacent places. He directed the officers concerned of the BRO, GREF and PWD to gear up men and machinery and clear snow on all roads for a hassle-free traffic movement.

He also divulged that the district administration would make efforts to restore power as well as water supply in the area which got hampered due to snow fall in the area.
