Lt-Governor of the UT of Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur conveyed his greetings to the people of the region on the eve of the Ladakhi New Year — Losar.

“Losar marks the beginning of the Ladakhi New Year, a significant day in the lives of the people of Ladakh,” the Lt-Governor said in a message released from Raj Niwas.

He hoped of strengthening of the existing strong bonds between all the communities of the region.

“May Losar brings with it peace and prosperity to all people of the region. I pray for fulfilling of hopes and desires of the entire people of Ladakh,” reads the message.

“On this auspicious occasion, I convey my heartiest greetings to the people of Ladakh and Ladakhis all over the nation and abroad and wish them a happy, prosperous and joyful New Year, said the Lt-Governor.

Meanwhile, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of the LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan has extended his greetings to the people of whole Ladakh, especially the Buddhist community, on the auspicious occasion of Losar.

In his message of felicitations, the CEC said the Losar festival was the classic symbol of the high traditions of love, tolerance, amity, communal harmony and brotherhood, which the people of Ladakh had cherished and nurtured over the centuries and needed to be further strengthened in the present era.

Meanwhile, the Executive Councillor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Mujtaba Mosavi, Executive Councillor for Works Aga Syed Abbass Razvi, Executive Councillor for Zanskar Affairs Phunsog Tashi and Executive Councillor for Agriculture Muhammad Ali Chandan have also wished the people on Losar and have prayed for peace, progress, amity and prosperity in whole Ladakh.
