Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal met Sanjeev Malik, Executive Director, National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, today and held a detailed discussion on the early tendering of the Zojila tunnel on the Leh-Srinagar national highway.

The MP also sought an early aerial survey for the preparation of a detailed project report for the Shingkunla tunnel on the Kargil-Padum highway and handing over of the Nimoo-Padum-Darcha road and NH301 to the NHIDCL.

The Ladakh MP was accompanied by Stanzini Chotak, BJP president, Lungnak Zanskar.

Namgyal stressed advertising the recently approved tender for the construction of the Zojila tunnel at the earliest. He also held discussions on the construction of the Shingkunla tunnel to connect Zanskar subdivision with Himachal Pradesh, in which it was decided that a detail project report would be prepared at the earliest by conducting an aerial survey. Issues related to the handing over of the ongoing construction of the Nimoo-Padum-Darcha road and NH301 (Sankoo-Padum) were also discussed. — TNS
