Two camps were organised in Samba district for disbursement of payment to those people whose land was acquired for border fencing in the area. The camps were organised on direction of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Samba, Kusum Chib, at Suchetpur and Gular areas.

“The objective of holding these camps was to expedite the disbursement of payments to the rightful claimants whose lands have been acquired for border fencing (135 ft) and Border Outposts (BOP)” said an official. The land was acquired in villages close to the International Border (IB) with Pakistan.

During the camps, necessary documents were collected from the beneficiaries and their payment formalities were completed.

Kusum Chib asked the lambardars and chowkidars to inform any beneficiaries who are not currently residing in the village to submit the requisite documents. Additionally, field staff and local residents were instructed to complete the mutation of inheritance in cases where the original beneficiaries had recently passed away.
