The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu, concluded its first leadership summit centered on the theme – “Innovation, growth and diversity. The day commenced with a discussion on the topic “Disruptions in Indian Markets” which was led by Anita Bhogle, chairperson, Prosearch Consultants as the panel chair. The second-panel discussion for the day focussed on the theme “Emerging role of academia in knowledge economy”.

Mega fest at SMVDU

The School of Economics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), organised a mega fest of economics — ARTHA 2K20. More than 200 young students of economics hailing from different schools, institutions, and colleges of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the fest, which was inaugurated by economist Dr Arvind Virmani, former Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India and India’s representative to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington DC. A painting of Goddess Durga painted by a student of economics was presented to the guest.

ABVP Conference concludes

The conference of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Prishad (ABVP), Jammu and Kashmir, concluded on Sunday at the Teachers Bhawan here. The ABVP also announced its executive council for the session 2020-21, wherein Dr Permendra Singh and Mukesh Manhas were elected as president and Mukesh Manhas as secretary. The other unit members were also elected.

Distributors, book sellers meet

The MBD Group on Sunday held a meeting for Jammu distributors and book sellers. A number of book sellers and distributors from different parts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir attended the meeting wherein pre-primary books featuring Disney and Pixar stories were introduced to them. Managing director of the MBD Group, Monica Malhotra said, “We are looking forward to the collaboration between the Disney theme and the educational experts of the MBD Group to provide children an opportunity to embark on an adventure of magical knowledge with their favourite Disney characters”.

Matri-Pitra poojan diwas

Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Jammu, today organised Matri-Pitra Poojan Diwas on the school premises here to inculcate traditional values among students. Union Minister of State, Rattan Lal Kataria was the chief guest on the occasion. Students of the school presented colourful cultural programmes. In his address, the chief guest hailed the efforts of the school for providing value-based education to the budding students. He also appreciated the performance of the students.
