The Chairman of LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, chaired a meeting to finalise the alignment of the Leh-Manali bypass from Spituk to Upshi.

During the meeting, a detailed presentation was given, outlining the significance of the project in improving connectivity, easing traffic congestion, and bolstering regional infrastructure. The proposed bypass aims to streamline vehicular movement and enhance road safety while ensuring better access for both civilians and the armed forces.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Leh, Shabir Hussain, Commander of 753 BRTF Col KS Lavana, Leh Tehsildar Dorjey Gailson, Kharu SDM Stanzin Namgail, Officiating Chief Engineer, Project Himank, Amit Sakhre, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), 111 RCC, Yogendra Meena among others were present.

After extensive discussions, Tashi Gyalson directed officials to conduct the survey at the earliest and complete it within 15 days in consultation with local stakeholders and councillors to ensure smooth and efficient process. The Army officials assured full cooperation and confirmed that a DPR will be prepared to facilitate the project’s execution.

Recognising the strategic importance of the bypass, all stakeholders expressed their commitment to its timely completion, highlighting that the project will play a crucial role in boosting regional development and connectivity.
