Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Brig BD Mishra (Retd) and First Lady Neelam Mishra recently visited the starting point of the renowned Chadar trek at Chilling. During the visit, the L-G conducted a detailed review of the trek’s operations and engaged with officials on-site to assess the situation.

An official spokesperson said “Demonstrating his commitment to understand the conditions first-hand, the L-G walked on the ice and engaged in discussions with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Leh regarding the ongoing Chadar trek. The interactions focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of trekkers, as well as assessing the facilities and support provided to them.”

The L-G stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of safety and infrastructure for trekkers and assured that any required improvements would be promptly addressed.

Leh Deputy Commissioner Santosh Sukhadave, Additional SP Leh Rigzin Sangdup, along with officials, were present at the visit.
