Jammu, July 10

A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed Jammu and Kashmir BJP president to boost the morale of the party cadre after the Bandipora killings, the party’s national general secretary Ram Madhav is likely to visit Kashmir on Sunday to meet family members of the killed party leader Waseem Bari.

“The J&K party chief and other senior leaders who were rushed to Bandipora after the Wednesday killings have been asked by the high command to extend their stay in the Valley,” a source said, adding, “the aim of Madhav’s visit is to restore the shattered confidence of the party’s Kashmir cadre”.

Sources said after reaching Srinagar on Sunday morning, Madhav would go to the residence of Bari to meet his wife and other family members. As per the preliminary schedule, Madhav would also interact with workers from different parts of Kashmir Valley in Srinagar the same day.

Sources added that Madhav’s visit would be followed by that of other Central leaders of the party as the BJP high-command had decided to take every possible step to restore the shattered confidence of the party workers in the Valley.
