A person was killed and three others injured in a road accident in Ramban district on Wednesday.

The accident took place at Nachlana on Wednesday morning when the driver of the vehicle, on its way to Kashmir from Jammu, lost control of the vehicle and it plunged into a deep gorge, a police official said.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Majeed (28), a resident of Hochak Ukhral, who died on the spot while three others were injured. The rescue teams swung into action and shifted the injured to a Banihal hospital for treatment.

The injured were identified as Manzoor Ahmed of Phulo, Kulgam, Mohammad Yusef of Senabathi, Ukhral and Naseer Ahmed of Shangus, Anantnag. Two of them were later referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.
