The vehicular traffic on the historic Mughal Road in Poonch district was suspended after it was hit by a massive landslide, triggered by heavy rains, in Poshana area on Tuesday. Several hundred vehicles are stranded. Road clearance work was in process, officials said. Commuters were requested to know the status of the road from traffic units in Jammu and Srinagar before planning journey, they said.

The road, which connects Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu with Kashmir’s Shopian, is an alternative route to the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
