A search operation was carried out along the international border in Mangu Chak belt of Samba district after local residents informed the police that they had seen a flying object late on Saturday evening. However, the BSF said no drone was noticed on the border.

A police team had searched the area immediately but couldn’t find anything. On Sunday morning, a massive search operation was carried out by the police and the CRPF to ascertain if the “drone” had dropped weapons or drugs in the area.

DSP Garu Ram said the entire area was scanned and even police drones were pressed into service. “Drones have been seen in the past. As soon as we get information about any flying object coming from Pakistan, we act over it,” said the DSP. Meanwhile, BSF spokesperson SPS Sandhu (DIG) claimed that there was no drone activity in the area.
