Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, along with engineers of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department and contractors, conducted an extensive tour of the Akhnoor Road, Paloura, and reviewed the ongoing de-silting work of the Ranir Canal.

The Mayor directed the officials to clean all canals thoroughly, keeping in view the prevailing situation arising due to threat of COVID. He directed officials to immediately lift debris from the canal so that the general public does not face any hardships while passing from the area.

Later, Gupta, along with Rajinder Singh Chib, district president (BJP-Rural), Tripta Devi, councillor of Ward No. 66, Tara Chand Mandal, vice president of BJP, Sanjeev Mahajan, AEE UEED, and the contractor concerned, toured areas near the EWS Colony at Sector 1 and 2 adjoining Janipur Police Station and kick-started construction work of deep drains.

The mayor also visited the areas in Ward No. 7, along with councillor Ritu Choudhary, and started the construction work of a community hall adjoining Jangam Mandir near Vivekanand Chowk, Jammu.
