Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, today interacted with instructors from the KNVB Dutch Football Association to discuss football development initiatives in the region.

Satish Sharma reiterated the government’s commitment towards promoting grassroots football, women’s participation and expanding the sport in rural, tribal and border areas. He welcomed international collaborations to strengthen coach and referee education, youth exchange programmes and football infrastructure in J&K. As part of the initiative, a refresher course for coaches and referees is being conducted to enhance their skills and align with international best practices.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s support for structured training programmes and global partnerships, ensuring better opportunities for young footballers in J&K.
