Jammu, April 22

Coming up with a noble initiative to boost the morale of residents amid lockdown, The Jammu and Kashmir Police are offering flowers to residents of Nagrota with slogan “Thank You Jammu” for obeying lockdown orders.

The police had strictly imposed restrictions and had made residents adhere to social distancing while ensuring essential items to those in need since Day one due to which not a single coronavirus case was reported in the Nagrota area.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nagrota, Mohan Sharma said, “From the beginning we have been dealing with people in different ways, sometimes, we showed strictness and sometimes adopted other ways to keep people inside their homes to break the chain of coronavirus and somehow, we have succeeded in doing this. Now, people also need appreciation for obeying the lockdown orders and helping us to perform our duties properly,”

“It’s really difficult for people to stick to one place for such a long time, but we are fighting with an invisible enemy and without the cooperation of the common masses, we cannot succeed in this war,” he added.

“The police here have established a round-the-clock control room at the Nagrota police station to locate people with hidden travel history and so far, nearly 200 persons have been home quarantined and a few suspects quarantined in hospitals but they also tested negative later,” the officer said.
