Udhampur police have arrested a man and seized over 19 kg poppy straw from his possession at Chenani. During routine traffic checking, a white-coloured taxi bearing registration number UP65FT-6902 was stopped by the police team. On checking the vehicle, a suitcase and a bag belonging to passenger Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Lattianwal village in Kapurthala district of Punjab, were found in the trunk.

Upon thorough checking, poppy straw weighing a total of 19.79 kg was found hidden in these bags. A case under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act was registered and further investigation is underway.
