NIA arrests another accused in 2020 narco-terrorism case

The NIA has filed a third supplementary chargesheet in a significant 2020 narco-terrorism case involving the seizure of 17 kilograms of heroin and large sums of cash in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K). The new chargesheet includes the name of Syed Saleem Jahangir Andrabi, who has been charged under several sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, the India.

Andrabi, a resident of the Kupwara district, was arrested in July 2024, after evading law enforcement for nearly four years. With this, a total of 16 individuals have now been chargesheeted, and the investigation is still ongoing.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
