One person died due to Covid-19 and 213 tested positive for it in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on Friday, among them three Army men and six paramilitary personnel, taking the Union Territory’s death toll to 91 and caseload to 6,762.

A coronavirus patient died today due to cardiopulmonary arrest, officials said.

So far, 91 persons have died due to the deadly virus in J&K and a majority of them, 80, have been in Kashmir alone.

“In the UT of J&K, 213 new cases have been reported since our last update on Thursday which include 58 from Jammu and 155 from Kashmir. One death has been reported from Kashmir,” read the media bulletin on novel coronavirus.

At least, 113 patients have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals of J&K, said the bulletin.

Srinagar district has reported 22 Covid deaths, the highest in any district in J&K. Baramulla (14), Kulgam (11), Shopian (10), Jammu (7), Budgam (7), Anantnag (6), Kupwara (5), Pulwama (4), Udhampur (1), Rajouri (1), Doda (1), Bandipora (1) and Poonch (1) make up the rest of the UT’s death toll.

The bulletin said that out of 213 new cases, 63 were reported from Baramulla, while Udhampur had 40 cases. This was followed by Pulwama (23), Shopian (18), Kupwara (17), Budgam (11), Srinagar (10), Kulgam (7), Rajouri (7), Anantnag (5), Kathua (5), Reasi (3), Poonch (2), Bandipora (1) and Samba (1).

Among the fresh positive cases are three Army men and six paramilitary personnel, officials said. A majority of the cases, 5,266, have been reported from Kashmir, while Jammu’s figure was 1,496.
