As a part of 32nd Police Public Mela, a Healthy Baby Show and painting cotest was organised by the J&K Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA) at Gulshan Ground here. Babies accompanied by their parents participated in two categories (0 to 3 years) and (3 to 6 years), respectively in Healthy Baby Show competition. In the painting competition, 160 students from different schools participated with enthusiasm. The prizes to winners will be distributed in the Police Public Mela being on March 15.

Workshop concludes

A workshop on photography organised by the department of applied arts at institute of music and fine arts (IMFA), University of Jammu, concluded here. Ashwani Sharma, Secretary Press Club of Jammu, was the chief guest on this occasion. Prof Satnam Kaur, Principal, IMFA and T S Batra, former Principal of IMFA were the guests of honour.

Nutrition initiative drive

Beloveds Grace on Sunday organised a “Nutrition Initiative Drive’ at a children park in Roop Nagar. Under this initiative, the focus was given to add nutrition to the meals of the children. Around 30 litres of milk was distributed to the children along with eggs, fruits, nutrela soy chunks, Chayawanprash, etc .

Symposium held at Jindrah GDC

A four-day sports festival concluded at PG College, Rajouri. Prof Government Degree College (GDC), Jindrah, has organised an Inter-Semester Symposium on the theme “Women respect, challenges to women empowerment in India”. Principal of the college, Dr Raj Shree Dhar delivered a lecture on “Importance of women as participants in development of the nation”. She sensitised the students to respect women by treating them as equals in every sphere of the life.
