Pakistan Rangers on Saturday handed over the body of a Jammu youth, who allegedly died by suicide last month after jumping into the Chenab river and his body had swept into Pakistan.
Officials said the body of the deceased, identified as Harsh Nagotra, was handed over to the BSF in Suchetgarh sector of Jammu.
An official said the deceased had jumped into the Chenab river in Akhnoor last month. His body was later recovered from the river near Sialkot in Pakistan. His family had made several requests to the Central government to take up the matter with Pakistan, so that they could get back the body of their son. The high court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh also took suo motu cognisance of the case.
