The panel constituted to assess various aspects related to the formation of five new districts in Ladkah on Friday convened a meeting with Heads of Departments of Leh district in which issue of creation of posts for these districts were discussed.

The meeting was chaired by Pramod Kumar Jain, with members Kacho Asfandyar Khan, Tsering Angchok, and Leh DC Santosh Sukhadeve (ex-officio).

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Sonam Nurboo, Chief Planning Officer Tsewang Gyalson and Heads of Departments.

During the meeting, panel chairman Pramod Jain instructed all officers to access various aspects of infrastructure and post creation in each department for the newly-formed districts. He advised the officers to evaluate existing status of posts and infrastructure and submit proposals for requirements of new posts and infrastructure at district, sub division and block level. If no requirement exists, the chairman directed the officers to provide their reasons as well.

Additionally, officers were directed to discuss the issues related to creation of posts and infrastructure with their respective directors and administrative secretaries and submit a comprehensive proposal/report to the office of Additional District Development Commissioner or Chief Planning Officer within 10 days. Further, officials were instructed to examine all the proposals before the next meeting scheduled for November 27.
