Parliamentary committees are set to visit Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from August 14.

The first visit would be by the Public Accounts Committee chaired by Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, which will visit Ladakh’s Kargil and Leh districts from August 14 to 18. The panel will examine the “provisioning, procurement and issues of high-altitude clothing, equipment, ration and housing of troops in tough terrains, including Siachen”. The study will be a follow-up of the CAG report on the subject in 2019.

The parliament panel on home affairs, headed by deputy leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma, will visit J&K from August 17 to 22 and meet residents to review development works in the area.
