Peoples Democratic Party leader and Pulwama MLA Waheed Para on Tuesday said that his questions in the cut motion were being deliberately erased in the ongoing Budget session.

On Tuesday, as the Budget session was underway, Para took to X and said J&K government is “nothing but an extension of the Governor's rule to ratify 5th August move.”

On August 5, 2019, the Parliament had abrogated Article 370 and 35 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Para said after six years of attacking LG’s rule, the “ruling party now shamelessly defends it in the Assembly.”

“Opposition questions are ignored, and my questions in the cut motion on law, tourism, culture, estates, and GAD (General Administration Department) are deliberately erased,” he said.

He added, “More answers can be obtained through the RTI Act than from this Assembly. This government has zero respect for accountability & transparency.”

Soon after the session concluded for the day, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, however, met Para in the house and discussed the issue.

Later, Waheed said he really appreciated the timely intervention by the CM to address this matter. PDP MLA from Tral, Rafiq Ahmad Naik, also reacted to Para's tweet.

“The irony lies in how the same question received two different answers—one for the ruling party and another for the opposition. This blatant disparity is nothing less than a betrayal of the mandate given by the people of my Tral Constituency,” Naik wrote on X.
