Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Yadav explained that PM SVANidhi is a special micro-credit facility launched by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs as part of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative. He urged street vendors to take full advantage of the scheme, which aims to significantly improve their livelihoods.

“This scheme provides financial support to street vendors in the form of working capital loans, encourages regular repayment, and promotes digital transactions,” Yadav said. He assured the vendors that their welfare remains a top priority for the government.

Yadav also emphasised the importance of keeping vending carts off footpaths and roads to avoid inconvenience to pedestrians and reduce traffic congestion. He urged vendors to set up their carts at designated locations within the Municipal jurisdiction to maintain public convenience and smooth traffic flow.

Earlier, the Commissioner conducted a thorough inspection of the Gandhi Nagar area to review the progress of ongoing developmental activities. He also visited Apsara Road to assess the parking arrangements made by JMC.
