“Police in Awantipora have attached an immovable property, consisting of four marlas of land, situated at Syedabad in the Pastoona area of Tral,” a police spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that the property was identified as belonging to a terror handler . “Ahmad is involved in promoting and reviving terrorist activities by smuggling arms and ammunition into the country to activate local terror networks,” he said.

In recent times, the J&K Police have intensified their actions against terrorists from Kashmir who are operating from Pakistan. Properties belonging to several such individual have been attached.

Last month, the Jammu and Kashmir Police attached properties in the Rajouri district belonging to two absconding terror handlers currently operating from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

A police officer stated that these actions against individuals based in PoJK are sending a strong message across the border. “

We have confiscated the properties of those operating from across the border and fuelling terrorism in J&K. This action is undoubtedly delivering a tough message,” the officer said.

He further noted that, in addition to Kashmir, dozens of properties were attached in the Jammu region in 2024.

Moreover, the police are also taking action against individuals who are providing shelter to militants. Recently, a house in south Kashmir’s Kulgam, where four militants were found hiding earlier this year, was attached by the authorities.
