The J&K Police again summoned the editor of news portal Fahad Shah about the coverage of a gunfight in Srinagar.

The police issued summons to Shah, asking him to present himself for questioning in connection with the stories published while covering the gunfight in Nawakadal on May 19 in which two militants were killed and several residential houses damaged. He was let off after the questioning.

This is the second time Shah had been questioned on the matter, a statement by the online publication said. It said it saw the fresh summons as “yet another attempt to intimidate and silence journalists”.

A senior police officer said there was an FIR against the editor and he was summoned for investigation. — TNS
