Properties of four drug peddlers attached in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached the properties of four alleged drug peddlers under relevant sections of law here, an official said.

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached the properties of four alleged drug peddlers under relevant sections of law here, an official said. The residential houses of Reena alias Roopa, Shakeela and Pal Singh and his wife Seema alias Kheeri — all residents of Rajiv Nagar — and Fareed Ali of Lower Ragoora were attached by separate police teams, a police official said. They are notorious drug peddlers and a menace to society, he added. The action was taken as part of the ongoing drive against the drug peddlers in the city, the official said. OC

Nine veterinary vans rolled out in Ladakh
Jammu: Adviser to Lieutenant Governor, Ladakh, Pawan Kotwal launched nine mobile veterinary clinic services of the Animal Husbandry Department funded under the Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme of the Central government. The aim of these vans is to provide quality and doorstep veterinary services to livestock in remote and inaccessible areas of UT, benefiting rural communities and promoting animal husbandry. The vans are equipped with modern medical equipment and staffed by trained veterinarians and para vets with a helpline number of 1962. OC

Drug peddler booked in Baramulla district
Srinagar: J&K Police on Wednesday booked a drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1988 (PIT NDPS) in Baramulla district. “The notorious drug smuggler, namely Nazir Ahmad Gagroo alias Nazira, son of Abdul Karim, a resident of Arampora, Baramulla district, has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority,” the police stated. The booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu. IANS
