The killing of Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah militant group and a renowned Shia cleric, by the Israeli military in Lebanon triggered protests in some parts of the Kashmir Valley on Saturday.

As the news about the killing of Nasrallah, got confirmed, protests were reported in the districts of Budgam, Srinagar, Baramulla and Bandipora. All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association held candle light vigil on Saturday evening against the killing. Lebanon’s Hezbollah confirmed on Saturday that its leader, Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Friday.

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti also suspended her next day's election campaign. “Cancelling my campaign tomorrow in solidarity with the martyrs of Lebanon & Gaza especially Hassan Nasarullah. We stand with the people of Palestine & Lebanon," Mufti posted on X.
