Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said it carried out extensive searches at the residences of over 60 terror associates in Srinagar district in furtherance of investigation into cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

“In its relentless efforts to dismantle the terrorist ecosystem, Srinagar Police conducted searches across the length and breadth of the city at the residences of OGWs and terrorist associates involved in cases registered under UAP Act,” a police spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, Kulgam Police in south Kashmir arrested two militant associates in Kulgam and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession. Police said during checking at a checkpoint in Kulgam district, two militant associates identified as Bilal Ahmad Bhat and Mohd Ismail Bhat were arrested.
