Samba admn attaches drug dealer’s property
Jammu, March 5
In a first ever crackdown on properties of drug dealers in Samba district, the administration has attached property worth Rs 15 lakh of a peddler.
Samba Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma and SSP Vinay Sharma ordered confiscation of a single-storey residential property valued at approximately Rs 15 lakh in Rakh Barotian area in Vijaypur. This property belonged to a drug dealer Shamas Din, alias Bacchu, a resident of Samba.
The operation was carried out under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, in connection with three FIRs against the accused.
“The residential property, identified as ill-gotten gains acquired through illicit drug trafficking, was uncovered during thorough investigation and inquiry conducted by the officials of Vijaypur police station and established backward linkage of the property of the accused with the drug peddling,” an official said.
The officials added that the operation serves as a reminder of the district administration’s unwavering commitment to eradicate the drugs menace from communities.
The property attachment operation was conducted by the team headed by Sub Divisional Police Officer Vijaypur Rohit Gupta, Tehsildar Sudesh Kumar and was executed by SHO Vijaypur Zaheer Mushtaq and his team.
