Jammu: Samba Police has nabbed three bovine smugglers hailing from Ramban, Jammu and Kathua, who had been evading arrest in cases registered against them. The arrested notorious bovine smugglers have been identified as Farman Ali, Nawaz Ahmed and Surmu Ali. The bovine smugglers have been arrested under Section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act. According to Samba SSP Benam Tosh, a total of 118 bovine smugglers have been arrested by police in a short span of time after the launch of special drive and 897 bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district. Two absconders arrested in Rajouri district

Jammu: During its drive against absconders, Rajouri police nabbed two accused who were evading arrests since long. The apprehended absconders have been identified as Zakir Hussain Shah and Sabir Hussain. Zakir was wanted in a case under Section 379 RPC and Sabir in a case under Section 498-A/109 RPC. Police team of Rajouri raided at two different locations and arrested both absconders. OC

Bandipora DC holds public outreach programme

Srinagar: In order to bridge the gap between administration and public, Bandipora Deputy Commissioner Shakeel Ur Rehman Rather on Sunday held a public outreach programme at the far-flung Athwatoo area. The programme was organised to address the grievances of the local populace and ensure timely resolution of their issues. Residents raised various matters pertaining to basic amenities like drinking water supply, road connectivity, healthcare facilities, education infrastructure, mobile network connectivity, and livelihood opportunities. Taking cognizance of the grievances, DC assured the villagers of prompt action and directed the concerned officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan for addressing their issues on a priority basis.
