Jammu, December 2

Security forces have called off the 12-hour long search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district on Monday.

A joint search operation was launched by the Army, police and paramilitary forces late Sunday evening after locals reported “suspicious movement” in Chanderkote area of Ramban.

On the reports of suspected movement of terrorists, security forces, including the Army and police, launched the operation in Ramban forest belt, which continued till 11 am.

“After locals reported suspicious movement in Chanderkote, the search operation was launched jointly by the forces around 11 pm yesterday. We called off the operation after 12 hours in the area as nothing was found.” said Anita Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban.
