Under pressure over recent killings in Kathua by terrorists, the police authorities have urged locals in Billawar to inform the security forces about any suspicious movement in the region.

A joint security review meeting was held by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Shiv Kumar Sharma on Monday at Billawar where Army, CRPF and intelligence officials were also present.

The police appealed to the public and urged the residents of higher reaches of Billawar to give timely information to the police, nearest Army post, SOG camps, local VDGs regarding any suspicious persons or movement.

The meeting chaired by DIG was attended by ADC Billawar Vinay Khosla, SP Ops Billawar Amir Iqbal, SDPO Billawar Neeraj Padyar, SHO Billawar Zaheer Manas, Army, CRPF and intelligence agencies officials.

An official informed, “A discussion took place about the present security scenario and actions to be taken to thwart the nefarious design of anti-national elements.”
