An encounter between the security forces and militants broke out in the dense forest area of Goli-Gadi in Doda district of Jammu on Tuesday evening. Two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped at the encounter site, which has been cordoned off by the police and Army.

Jammu ADGP Anand Jain said the encounter broke out in Goli-Gadi forests in the upper reaches of Doda. Sources said a cordon was laid in the area after inputs were received about the movement of militants. Security forces were combing the area when at 5.30 pm, terrorists opened firing at the search teams, leading to a gunfight. The terrorists are heavily armed with automatic rifles. There were no reports of any casualty.
