Amid weather advisory about heavy rain and snow in the higher reaches of J&K from Thursday, one-way traffic plied from Srinagar to Jammu on the National Highway-44 due to poor road conditions in Ramban district.

While the traffic police had allowed only one-way traffic on the highway due to poor surface of the road at Dalwas, Mehad-Cafeteria, Gangroo, Hingni, Kishtwari Pather among other areas, shooting stones were seen in some areas on Wednesday.

The traffic police’s Tuesday advisory had also mentioned that the security forces were asked not to ply against the guidelines. It stated that there could be possible traffic congestion due to narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal on the highway. Security forces were asked to ply only from Srinagar to Jammu side. The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road, Mughal road, Bhaderwah-Chamba road and Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road are still blocked due to snow accumulation.
