In a major step towards improved public service delivery, the Ladakh Power Development Department (LPDD) today launched an SMS-based power billing system for electricity consumers in Leh district.

An official informed that the new SMS-based system is designed to deliver timely alerts to consumers regarding electricity bills, payments, disconnection notices and reminders after the bill due date.

“The initiative complements the recent installation of smart meters across Leh and aligns with the government’s broader push for Smart Grid development. During the event, a detailed presentation was given by Inventive Software Solution highlighting the features and benefits of the system. Consumers can also use the ‘Ladakh Bijlee’ mobile app to check their billing and consumption history, make payments, apply for new connections, and register complaints with real-time resolution tracking” the official informed.
