New Delhi, October 28

The police today said a terrorist had been killed in an encounter on Wednesday night.

Identified as Javed Ah Wani, the terrorist had reportedly helped Gulzar (killed on October 20) in killing two labourers from Bihar in Wanpoh. Javed was on a mission to target a shopkeeper in Baramulla, security forces said.

Kashmir zone IG Vijay Kumar tweeted, “The killed terrorist is a hybrid type. He is from Kulgam district. He had assisted terrorist Gulzar in killing two labourers from Bihar in Wanpoh. He was on a mission to target a shopkeeper in Baramulla.”

Police sources said they seized a pistol, a loaded magazine and a Pakistan grenade from the possession of the slain militant. The Kashmir zone policesaid militants fired upon an area domination patrol of the Army and the police at Cherdari in Baramulla district. “Alert parties retaliated and one terrorist was killed,” it added.
