Jammu, November 15

Deepika K Sharma, Director, Tourism, Jammu, inaugurated the India Travel Mart (ITM) Jammu, India’s Leading Travel, Tourism Exhibition and Conclave in Jammu, which was organised by the Tourism Department to boost the travel industry of Jammu and Kashmir.

This is the first travel mart after the abrogation of article 370 and constitution of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Along with the officials of the Tourism Department, Hitesh Gupta, secretary, Jammu Tawi Golf Course, Sidhra, Vinakshi Koul, general manager, JKTDC, Sheena Sahni, Ambica Bali, Assistant Directors, KK Basu, CEO, Ideas Cell Tours and a member of Indian Association of Tour Operators, Rajesh Gupta, Chairman, Tourism Federation of Jammu,delegates, exhibitors, travel Agents from PAN India,tour organisers from Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Surat, Nasik, Pune, Punjab, Haryana, Mumbai and other nearby cities were present along with hoteliers, media and the general public.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepika K Sharma, said, “Through this mart we want to spread the message that Jammu & Kashmir is having ample opportunities in tourism.” “The safety of tourists is our foremost priority & Jammu Kashmir is indeed a blessed region with peace, secure and serene environment,” she added. Rajesh Gupta also focused on the revival of tourism in the UT of J&K and urged the media to play a pivotal role in promoting tourism.
