Asia’s largest Tulip garden located in Kashmir is all set to open for public in March-end and visitors are all set to experience the beauty of the garden, which will have 17.5 lakh tulip bulbs this time.

According to officials, arrangements for the opening of Asia’s largest Tulip Garden and to ensure a pleasant experience for visitors during Tulip Festival are being put in place.

Located at the foothills of Zabarwan and on the banks of the famous Dal Lake, the Tulip Garden remains the most favourite destination of tourists in the month of April.

Officials said it shall be opened for the public in the last week of March this year and lakhs of tulip bulbs have started to bloom gradually.

This time, officials said 74 varieties, including two new ones, will be put on display in the garden which is spread over 450 kanals.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri also convened a meeting to review the arrangement and directed a massive publicity campaign for the opening of the garden, time slot and online booking of tickets by the visitors for which link will be available at the official website of the floriculture department. He has urged the officials to keep the garden open from 6 am to 8 pm.

Officials said Srinagar Municipal Corporation has been asked to conduct regular sanitation drives to keep the garden and surroundings clean from littering besides instructed to install adequate number of dustbins at the garden.

Last year, Tulip Garden had witnessed more than four lakh visitors, both tourists and locals. In 2023, the garden recorded over 3.5 lakh visitors. The tulips remain in bloom for 15-20 days, depending on the weather conditions.
