Srinagar, February 1
Two teenaged south Kashmir boys, who had been detained while trying to cross the Line of Control, were handed over to their families on Saturday by the police.
The two Class XI students from Pulwama and Shopian were detained at a naka in the Gantmulla area of Baramulla by a joint team of forces a few days ago.
“During questioning, the duo revealed that they were planning to cross the LoC and had purchased a map to help them to go to the other side,” Senior Superintendent of Police, Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom said.
“The two spent a night at a mosque in Baramulla and the next day they started moving towards Uri where both were apprehended at the Gantmulla naka.”
The SSP said the two were properly counselled and handed over to their respective families on Saturday.
