“The security forces foiled an infiltration bid and eliminated two terrorists following a heavy exchange of fire with the terrorists. Large quantities of weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores have been recovered from the terrorists,” the statement added.

The incident came a day after a terrorist attack claimed 26 lives in Pahalgam. The terrorists are believed to be Pakistanis.

In another incident, Pakistan violated ceasefire in the Tattapani area of Poonch district early on Wednesday.
